An Open Alternative for ELNs & LIMS

MyLabBook is a community website for exploring how to build lab management software using the open source content management system called Drupal. Our thesis is that by utilizing appropriate Drupal modules, inexpensive and appropriate lab management software can be created for many contexts. This exploration is in conjunction with the University of Houston's biotechnology program.

These efforts of using Drupal to build lab management software (Electronic Lab Notebooks[ELNs] and/or Laboratory Information Management Systems [LIMS] along with the associated Scientific Data Management Systems [SDMS]) have grown out of the needs of the biotechnology program at the University of Houston's central campus.
